Sir Elton. recently dug into the archives, identifying unreleased music spanning six decades for his Jewel Box album.  To kick off the project we created an animated music video for the title track of an unreleased debut album, Regimental Sgt. Zippo. This track captures Elton and Bernie Taupin in full 60s psychedelic mode, with a sound heavily inspired by The Beatles Sgt. Pepper album. Our brief was to draw inspiration from classic animations of the era, such as Monty Python's Flying Circus, Crystal Tipps and Alistair and Yellow Submarine. 

 

We followed this up with a number of more simplified lyric videos, inspired by the original song sheets, depicting Bernie at his typewriter. For the final release from the album, Scarecrow, animator Merlin Perry has rounded off his collection, by drawing inspiration from both styles, merging the series as one cohesive body of work.
